UNITED WAY YOUNG LEADERS SOCIETY RETREAT EVENT TO BE HELD AUGUST 21 AND AUGUST 26 - AUGUST 29, 2010.



El Paso, TX- The United Way Young Leaders Society (UWYLS) announces its 2nd annual Capitol Retreat, it will be held at the State Capitol in Austin, Texas on Thursday August 26 Saturday August 29, 2010. The Capitol Retreat kick-off event will be held at Madeline Park at 1099 Kern Dr, El Paso, Texas on Saturday, August 21, 2010.

 

In 2009, the Capitol Retreat welcomed more than 35 young professionals who participated in the three day leadership event. This event is unique because it provides an opportunity for El Paso young professionals to network with state officials and professionals in key industries, as well as work to create a strategic plan for El Paso s future.

 

The purpose of the UWYLS Capitol Retreat Leadership event is to develop leadership skills and knowledge for the betterment of the community, said Analisa Cordova, Networking Chair for UWYLS. You have an opportunity to gain insight on issues regarding: Smart Growth, New Urbanism, Financial Stability, Education, Technology and Renewable Energy. Participants also can exchange ideas, brainstorm, give advice, and learn how to implement what they ve learned to make El Paso a better community.

 

UWYLS Capitol Retreat Event is sponsored by Automatic Data Processing, Inc (ADP) and El Paso Electric. The event is open to the public. The registration fee is $25. Participants are responsible for travel and hotel accommodations. Registration packet and event information are available on www.uwyls.org.

El Paso, TX- The United Way Young Leaders Society (UWYLS) announces its signature Turbo Networking event, modeled off the popular speed dating concept. It will be held at Aceitunas Beer Garden at 5200 Doniphan Dr. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:30pm.

 

In 2009, this Turbo Networking Event welcomed more than 75 young professionals who participated in the event. This networking event is unique because the format allows you to make 40 contacts in one hour with representatives from various local businesses, and encourages attendees to make lasting business relationships.
