Why Is The United Way Forming The Young Leaders Society?

To grow our existing relationships with local companies. To engage the younger generation not only in monetary donations, but to be active community leaders. To assist our member agencies and other non profits in fulfilling their idividual missions through volunteering, serving on boards, and a deeper understanding of local issues and needs.

Who We Are

The mission of the Young Leaders Society of El Paso is to engage, educate, and empower young leaders in El Paso to share their spirit and resources for the betterment of our community. It is our mission to maximize community philanthropy by empowering uniquely motivated Young Leaders in the El Paso area with the express opportunity to participate in leadership development events, special guest discussions, volunteer activities, and network opportunities.

2008 Kickoff Event Young Leaders Society of El Paso Kick-Off event was held on Thursday, February 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden in located at 111 W. University Ave. This was a great success and a great place to meet other young leaders in the El Paso area. See our events page for more details.

Target Audience Young Professionals who are interested in learning more about community issues and want to be more directly engaged in their community.

GoalsConnect with other young professionals and leaders of local business and nonprofit organizations.

Serve by matching your skills with community needs.

Lead by example, through involvement in YLS service and leadership opportunities.

Benefits of Joining YLS Network with other young professionals passionate to serve their community, as well as El Paso nonprofit and business leaders.

Learn about community issues/ needs and hear about ways that local nonprofits, faith based organizations, government agencies, foundations, and schools are working to meet those needs.

Other Benefits of YLS Participate in special YLS events, including volunteer service opportunities, educational lunches, recognition events, and even nonprofit board training sessions.

Lead by example by creating a culture of caring in your own business/ office/ social network by sharing your own experiences of community involvement through the Young Leaders Society and inviting others to join in making a difference.
